I’m Evan Davies, a professional freelance photographer with a passion for capturing images that tell stories, spark emotion, and preserve moments that matter.

My journey began in the school darkroom, developing black and white film by hand. I can still remember the quiet hum of the ventilation fan, the warm glow of the red safety light, and the magic of watching an image slowly appear in the developer tray. Those early experiences taught me patience, precision, and the importance of seeing beyond the obvious—skills that continue to define my work today.

For many years, I followed a different path, building a successful career in Information Technology. It was challenging and rewarding, but something was missing. I missed the creative energy of photography—the way light could shape a mood, the way a single frame could capture an entire story.

So, I returned to where it all began. The tools had changed—film replaced by high-resolution digital sensors, darkrooms by editing suites—but the principles remained the same: craft, vision, and the relentless pursuit of capturing the perfect moment.

Now, I work with businesses, brands, and individuals to create compelling imagery—whether that’s commercial product photography, fine art work, events, or editorial assignments. Every project is approached with the same care and creativity I learned in those early darkroom days, but enhanced by years of technical problem-solving from my IT background.
